Permanent makeup is also known as micropigmentation, cosmetic tattooing, and intradermal pigmentation. This is a method of applying pigment into the dermal layer of the skin. The technique has been medically developed and specifically designed for safe, semi-permanent application. In addition to eyeliner, eyebrows and lips, permanent makeup can also be used to treat skin irregularities, scars and areolas.
How Micropigmentation Works
A hand-held device is used to push the pigment into below the epidermis layer of the skin. The treatment is relatively quick. Mild discomfort during procedure is avoided using topical and/or local anesthesia.
